for a while now, boddika seems to gravitate towards playing out and releasing full-fledged techno instead of bass music. i wonder what sense to make of the contrast between this development and his own releases, which are still very bass-like and very experimental. any opinions?

if you compare boddika's house or breezin or you tell me with stuff like dun dun or prone i think you can clearly see a direct development from (more experimental) house music to straight techno.
so this new releases just fit i think?!

It's really no surprise if you look at the NonPlus+ catalogue. He's been releasing stuff from Jimmy Edgar, Actress, Lowtec and Kassem Mosse for two years now...

I don't know what bass music is , but it sounds corny. Boddika has always made a hybrid of electro / techno , along the way someone decided what he makes is bass music.

nobody does, the logic behind it is
Ties to certain UK labels + Bass heavy productions + Not dubstep = Bass Music Producer

Ohh , so house/techno made post 2010 released on UK labels?

I really hate the them Bass music , it's so patronising.

I really only use the term UK Bass so people don't think I listen to Circus Records.

I just say House, Techno or Electro. All the stuff classed as "UK Bass" can more or less be classed as one of those.

I always find it odd when people who are into all that harsh, midrage stuff refer to that shitt as bass music.
