Right now i have a solid beat with a kick with a ping pong delay and it sounds good. But I want to put some redux on JUST the delay and i dont want the actual kick sounding like shit.
I just want the kick to sound like a kick, but i want the just the delay to have redux on it and im kinda at a road block right now with this problem
Does anyone know how to do this??
I'm using Ableton btw.

create a return track with a delay, then a redux, send the kick signal to it.

This is the easiest way to do it. I personally tend to use most of my reverbs and delays on sends so I can have more control over those effects.

or just "duplicate channel," then add redux to the copy - if you're not into the whole... learning thing.

so you should put your delay at 100% wet on a send/return track. I'm guessing you have it in series, also known as an insert. Then you can adjust the 'wetness' with the 'send' knob on your drum channel. at least that's how it works in ableton. if you want redux just on the wet signal then put it also on your delay track. or you could send your return track to another return track but I'm not sure how that would work!

That's the only problem I have. I had the idea of using return tracks, the only thing is that I don't know how to use them.
I had been looking for tutorials on how to do this but I have had no luck.
And yes I am more than willing to learn how to do this.
So now, How the hell do I use return tracks?
Can someone send me a link to tutorial????

You dont even need to make a return track, just group the kick with its effects into a rack. Make a seperate chain with the delay on 100% wet and the redux after that, one chain is just the kick, and your other chain is the FX

Create a return track (right click - create return track or you have A/B return tracks by default so use either of those), put the delay on it 100% wet, and put the redux after the delay. Now on your channel that you want to put the delay on, increase the amount of send to given return track until it sounds good. It's the little knobs on the channel saying A or B or whatev.

Like, for real.
What Rando said.
Return tracks are shit because when can't see them in Live's file browser. You can easily browse through old projects and rip off your old processing IF its not on a return track or a group track. Making 2 chains in 1 track is the same as using a Return. Think about it.

Automate the downsample so you can only hear it on the delay
