you've probably heard of him already but I'd check out Surgeon. He usually has some sets to download off his website.

I don't know if they fit the criteria but Drexciya are one of my favourites. also check out ultradyne's latest effort for some truely spannered industrial electro.

hit me up on the aim later, misk.

i got the goods for ya. now we're talkin my area of expertise. :)

for starters, i gotta do a lil blatant self promo. check the audio page on my website www.djshiva.subterror.com for many many sets, ranging from harder to funkier and everywhere in between.

for now, i would highly recommend:

surgeon (for the harder, weirder tip)

bryan zentz aka barada (if you can find live sets, the best damn live set i have heard)

adam jay (my partner in techno crime...dub influenced, funky but driving)

marco carola (for deeper tech, very good mixing)

stacey pullen (riding the house/techno tip...one of the best djs i have ever seen)

joel mull (again, funky, drummy, clean mixing)

older richie hawtin sets (not a fun of his ubercoolische minimal thing right now, but if you dig that, he's still one of the most innovative djs around)

alex under (minimal, but very driving)

matthew jonson (minimal but incredibly musical live PAs)

mark eg (for the much much harder tip)

adam beyer (old stuff is harder, newer stuff is more round and funky, but still has a very driving edge)

neil landstrumm (live pas are SICK SICK SICK)

will think of more later

well.. you really cannot go wrong with Anja Schneider's mix from Club Raum:

She's honcho of the impeccably good Mobilee label out of Berlin (the home all of all good techno right now imo).

Second to that, sign up at : www.mnml.nl and dig into the 'live sets' section. there always loads of new stuff posted up.

i've been caning Richie Hawtin's Decks EFX & 909 set of late, so good

can anyone recommend me artists / labels in a similar vein to this? particularly the first half... minimal, loopy, tribal. the Arthur Smith tracks are a joke

Nice, innit? Sounds better when it's not coming through a shitty DV cam mic.

:)
