Resampling and layering samples?

Is it okay to layer a resampled sound over the original synth/bass, or will it sound bad. I guess I could test it. :/

Your gonna get phasing issues unless there are the exact same, in which case all your doing is doubling the volume

thats all i do to get my crazy modulation in my basses. but the one i layer over is put through alot of effects, so no phasing to worry about.

I did it on pretty much all my basses in my newest track in my sig. :t:
