burial song meanings and song facts

Post by namtax » Thu Aug 09, 2007 5:51 pm

Hi i have set up a song meanings website and thought people may be interested..

The premise behind the site is to explain what a song means, in particular what a song means to you. Even though this seems easier for songs with lyrics, I think this fits quite well for burials music, because its so atmoshperic and conjures up all types of emotions etc..

There also space for song info on the site, so I have put up some of the sample burial has used in his songs etc..

anyway, heres the link, let me know what you think...

There's already a site called songmeanings.net

It's full of emo kids musings about emo songs.

This might be a really good idea though. There are some real mysteries in the world of Dubble

Has anyone guessed why she left them alive and is Copenhagen really that massive?

yeah i know about songmeanings...i discovered it when i was developing my site..

Im taking a different approach with mine, and trying to encourage discussion on the music that i like, dubstep, hip hop etc...

Even if you cant really draw a song meaning out of a dubstep tune theres still space on my site to discover which samples where used in the song etc..

and i do feel with burial in particular that he is pointing towards something with his song titles and the mournfullness of his music, so i do think the interpretations angle could work where thats concerned. I definately get that when i read the reviews of the album

Yeah I agree, its hard to see what tracks like U Hurt Me, Gutted and Forgive might be about isn't it.

most astute of you sir. However I agree that Burial does have a bit of a concept album thing goon on.

fair play..

the premise of the site probably works better in explaining some of the references and slang in grime and hip hop anyways...

but no probs...quite funny anyway

So does anyone know what is said on the sample on 'Broken Home' and who it is?

I'm bamboozled on both counts.
