thoughts on complextro

Post by CYANOPHOSPHATE » Fri Oct 19, 2012 8:14 am

anybody like complextro? i think it is a somewhat dubstep-house hybrid, that incorporates the heavy basslines of dubstep without the halfstep drum beat. how about you guys?

I think he was just talking about the name 'uk funky' being lame though not the actual music.

people are also forgetting witch house and chillwave in the worst genre name awards. clownstep, brostep and srebme breaks are disqualified for being hilarious.

"Complex" is wrong root adjective. When I first heard the name I was like "cool, some freaky IDM shit played in 13/7½ time!" or something like that.

Then I heard it.

...

Next.

This is my personal opinion and not really too objective, being as I'm not the biggest fan of house to start with: however, anybody in dubstep and the wider electronic music community should take note of the ridiculousness of coming up with a "whole next level style ting!" by just making a huge batch of house tunes with a limited, pre-defined sound palette and calling it a movement.

No, you know what? FUCK IT. You guys go out there and make all the money you can off the cheezdick clubformist idiots who consume the stuff. And maybe in the process you can slowly introduce them to good music. ;-)

"Complextro" so that stuff has a name? I don't think it's bad , I just don't think it's very interesting. I just associate it with club scenes in hollyoaks.
