KRK RP8 G2

Post by Jigwarnah » Fri Oct 19, 2012 6:31 pm

I am in the market for some decent monitors and was wondering about the rp8's, i don't want anything less than 8" as i am concerned about the bass, i currently am using a 12" subwoofer and my hifi to produce music but its very coloured and not flat at all. Would the rp8's have good, low bass? or would i need a subwoofer aswell?

Yeah, 8's won't do it. Just use your sub and get 5's

I have the 8s and they're awesome. You only get a response down to about 45 Hz though I think, so you get bass but not the whole shebang.
Definitely going to get a sub to go with mine when I have the money and a place where my neighbours won't hear me lol.

I bought 6.5" monitors because I have a seperate sub, never tried KRKs though, but I would recommend getting smaller monitors and a seperate sub instead of 7/8"+ monitors without a sub - unless you have your desk & room set up well enough.

I have the KRK VXT 8's, decided last minute to buy the VXT's instead of the Rokits, because I had heard that they're much better. They have deep enough bass response imo, could maybe do with a little bit lower, but whatevs. Superb sound, really pleased with my pair. :)
