im in pretty desperate needs for a good drum sampler as well as a normal sampler and maybe a bit of massive. im looking at buying a used komplete 7 for around $200 or I can buy a new komplete 7 for $350. can anyone komment on how kontakt 4 and guitar rig 4 will suffice vs 5? those are really the only two major differences korrect?

comparing kontakt and guitar rig 4 vs 5 is going to be pretty hard. Is there some way you can find a list of what features 5 has that 4 doesn't? that might make it easier.

not that i can find. someone must be able to compare them a little bit for me to see if its worth it or not.

Considering the time of yeah I reckon komplete 9 can't be pretty far off, usually before the next version comes out the drop the price of the existing one considerably so I wouldn't be surprised if you could get a better deal on 8 if you hang on for a little while longer. I might be complete wrong but that's usually what happens around this time of year.

You also get Absynth 5 instead of 4 with K8.

From what i can tell you get better tweakablity with GR5. Mostly with being able to mic and eq. Also some better amps. Looks like a 5150 and an improved Rectifier. They might have put a Leslie in there also. Not sure.

Cant really komment on Kontakt. Im sure theres some fun features there, but im just not what sure what they are.

absynth 5 is included in komplete 7. so hmm i think i may just go with komplete 7 if i can get it for $175 used. thats awesome bang for buck.

K7 for sure.
I bought K5 and it is virtually the same excluding some factory content and a couple ensembles.

Not worth the extra money.

kontakt 5 has an extra timestretch engine that sounds very clean, 4 doesnt have this. 5 has an added transient shaper as well, thats the only difference i know.
also im not a fan of guitar rig so i uninstalled that
get komplete 7 its probably going to be the same with less instrumentals in kontakt (it has enough already)

yeah im talking to a few people with k7 now. they want around 200 im offering 175. cant really beat that price so...
