Im working on this tune and I would like to get my bass compression to sound like the drop here.
at 1:00MIN.
the bass hitting sounds like it kicks all the other sounds down a teeny notch. how can you achieve this?
would anyone be able to help?
thank you all.

1) Sidechain compression on whatever you want to be put down at the drop (synth or whatever), with the kick as input/reference for the sidechaining.
2) Long release on the compressor.
3) ???
4) Profit !

a) it doesn't
b) compression on the master.
does sound like the kick is pushing the sub out a bit tho

I agree that this may require a bit more than my sarcastic 4 step process.
However, I find fun that some get trapped in the "more complicated = better". It's music, not a technical showoff, and I think that to achieve this, you don't have to dig that far.
PS : I find myself trapped like that aswell, reassuring myself trying super technical stuff when simple things would do the job better.

Hey great tune man!
I don't know a great deal but I started sidechaining almost everything and my kicks started cutting through really well

if you eq everything right you wont need to side chain things so often i guess

But if you sidechain, you won't have to EQ so much.
