Hello fellow dubsteppers. I will be visiting Croydon in December and was really looking forward to catching some shows and visiting some record stores to grab some vinyls. Seeing as how i know absolutely nothing about the area I was wondering if anyone could give me a heads up and help me out a little bit. I have been listening to old school dub step from DMZ to Chestplate for years now and i took the opportunity to stop by here in my travels. Would be great to meet a few people since i'm new to the forums too.
Any help would be appreciated
Thank You!!

Thanks alot. Since I'm only going to be there for a week I was thinking of staying somewhere closer to central london. What areas would you recommend that would be easy to get around from?

In one short walk you can do Phonica, BM Soho, Sister Ray, Sounds of the Universe and the Music & Video Exchange in Berwick Street. If you visit all of those stores and don't come away with a bag full of records something has gone seriously wrong.
Check the Events section to see if there's any shows you fancy whilst you're visiting or search Pack London on google, they've got a pretty comprehensive list of what's going on. If you're around for system do everything you can to reach it, it's probably the best night going atm.

Thanks man. I'm going to be staying in either Camden Town or Mayfair which are both fairly close to the area you are talking about.

dnr is decent but very focused on garage old and new. shop is very tucked away on the street but that's pretty much the only shop in croydon, easily accessible if you got a travelcard - probably take about 30-40 mins to get there from victoria.
phonica, SOTU i recommend. there's rough trade and honest jon's to have a look at as well
