Just did this today, been listening to zomby a lot lately and I'm just experimenting with verb and mix position and stuff, got a cool Jakes vibes to it. (3kout and stuff)
Tell me what you guys think, I'm being pretty productive lately!
Soundcloud
BIG UP!

no hit hats in intro? i see you went for a good mix down every thing seems to be sitting alright. maybe try a bit more mids?
and whack a sick melody on it. most of the sounds are pretty cool.
work on your intro.

no intro for hats, ever, what about the intro, was wrong with it ?
EDIT: Reason is, when the hi hats comes, in you get quite an impact, I do that quite a lot
EDIT2: Also, should the main synth be louder? that's my main concern.

well most intros are 64 bars. why is this? well it makes it very easy for djs to bring in tracks. myself i like to sometimes write stuff that makes its own mind up but then i still like to lay down 64 bar sections. seems restraining at first, but it helps alot with your flow and structure as your making it on the time line everyone's so use to dancing too.
also, good quality samples. your snare could have some reverb, so could your hats and bell. even the high end of your mid bass.
at this point im just kinda saying what i would mess with, not really what to do to make this specific track better.
just add some more sounds, that seems like your biggest gap here.
more sounds more sound more sounds.
good day

no if anything your synth could be brought down a bit to make room for others.
and yes the hats come in later but there needs to be something that the listener well nod to in the intro, right now it just feels jello, the intro that is. the song is pretty alright

Reason why this is a 16 bars intro is because I just don't dig 55 sec drops, it's too long and these are my tearout track for my dj'ing sets.
As for the rest, this is all personal I guess.
Funny you say add more sound, I usually just do add TOO much sound and samples to my shit, this here is me, formatting the tracks and minimalising my sound banks, thanks for your input I'll consider it, mostly that synth that seems lacking something I yet don't know!
Thanks! Bigup!
EDIT: I'll add some conga or shit, if I'm to add something I want to keep to top for maximum impact!

yes it really is all personal, but yeah focus on making a sound "sound" good rather than a bunch of sounds to blow your mind.
but then again whatever you do.
congas are titz. haha

Bassline is cool but it feels far away. Loving the computer keyboard samples

Most of the hi hats and sounds are from goldeneye n64 break synth trumpets as well.
As for the far away. This is what im thinking too. I should bring it upfront in the mix. I also wanted to have a roomy feel in it though!
