Right guys I need your help......

I found out yesterday that my Rinse FM show #RCFF has been nominated for a DJ Mag Best Of British award, I am up against Pete Tong, EZ, X-Press 2 & Julio Bashmore..





As you can see I am the only show repping the Oldskool / Jungle / DnB and really Im the only show with true Pirate radio roots out of the 5 nominated...

Now this is where I need some help from you guys....

Being in the top 5 alongside them legends is a massive achievement but I reckon with a bit of help we can take 1st, 2nd or 3rd at least...!!!

I think its a big look, firstly to be nominated by your peers is an outstanding achievement. Why not win it? Great exposure for anybody.

Not a fan of popularity contests.. drives the idea of quantity (of fans) over quality.

I guess as a means to an end (more exposure for an artist) i get it. it often gets taken too far though: I see friends who are into progressive house and shit always talking about world DJ rankings on Facebook more than the actual music....

I agree the top 100 DJ awards are total wank cos that SOLELY is voted for by the public and is just a populaity contest (Daft Punk were top 30 for god sake.......they havent played a set in years!).

But these awards have had some thought put into them, and narrowed down to a select few by a panel of judges from the magazine (I guess). Yes it'll be a bit more about popularity now, but Im sure its a great privilidge for Dugs to have been nominated, so why not support him.....which you have done. Biggups.

Exactly that,., just being nominated alongside these guys at an awards ceremony of this nature that is well out of my usual world and is a massive achievement, I am the only show nominated that plays 100% old music rather than pushing new stuff, im sure im probably the only one who plays vinyl and im sure mine is the most pirate-esque show of the 5 nominated so taking into consideration these factors it the best feeling just to know that my style of presenting and playing music has broken into the upper circles of radio shows..

i feel so honoured that my show and the music i love, jungle and oldskool is up there with them others,, win lose or draw on the day I cant lose overall, the fact that its has been recognised outside of the usual circles and is in amongst them names is all what really matters..

anyway,, i work for myself, do all my own promo, bookings etc so if i dont bloody tell everyone who will..??!!??

I would rank shows like yours (and many shows on rinse) way above the likes of pete tong & that radio one bullshit already without the need of DJ Mag needing to say it. But the subject of mainstream recognition & awards is off topic for this thread
