operator users

yeah sure there is an ableton Q & A thread but i wanted to make this for the operator crew to exchange ideas. since my copy of ableton won't locate massive from my hd i have had to get accustomed to synthesizing everything on operator. are there any good operator synthesis tutorials on youtube? what are you favourite tips and tricks on operator? what effects do you tend to add on the chain to further manipulate the sound? discuss

Might be a simple tip but after making a sound i play around with the order of the operators. Using user defined waveforms (bottom right corner) can give interesting results. Automating the level can give lots of movement to sounds. Not the best at synthesis, let alone fm, but i like operator to fm8 for its ease of use and cpu efficiency.

bummer about the massive situation, but ya operator is still awsome. i like to turn on all four osc's get a crazy nice solid sound thru filtering add little lfo movment and play around with the ADSR and sounds waves. then compress it and shape it with some eq to get a nice lead maybe and go from there usually add a fx effects depends on proj.
also doubling my operator once i got a nice full sound and make an instrument rack with them then blending the sounds together and adding effects can get a really nice lead or can make into a cool pad also.

operator is my go to for sub bass and 808 subs.
But can make crazy bass sounds by setting the first operator to a saw, then automating the level the other operators. pretty simple, but always works.

agree all day for bass and sub so easy to get nice deep solid sound
