Instrument Rack - Chain Selector

I've been wondering if there is a way, besides using the arpeggiator, to have it switch to another chain without being retriggered by a new note (ie I drone a C for 64 bars and can switch between the chains without having to a new note to trigger the new chain). The arpeggiator allows to have rapid fire switching (cause you always get reset so the chain selector works) which can be useful, but I'm trying to apply chains/racks in a dimension outside the typical neurofunk manner of doing this. I'm trying fck with this to get some more interesting pad sounds and development.

TY, hope im clear on this

I know how to do that already, sorry I wasn't clear. Basically the problem is say i move the chain selector from 30 to 75, i have to have a new note to trigger the change in the chain. I was wondering if there is a way to seamlessly transition from one sound to another in the chain while keeping a drone note for 32-64 bars.

Not a pressing issue, I'm just trying new avenues for pad evolvement and assumed I could get some nice results using racks and chains.

Hmmmm you could set up a midi knob to control the volume of each instrument in the rack. So essentially all the instruments would be playing at once, but you could assign the gains of each so that when you turn the knob the volume of one starts to go down and the other goes up. You could also use the A/B dj mix thing to do this between two channels. Hope this makes sense
