Using FL live with Hardware

First of all, sorry for being a lazyass and starting a new topic but I actually need answer for one simple question and wanted it to be seen for sure

So, basically my situation is this: I've been producing tunes for a while with my pc using FL studio. It's working real nice and with Massive I seem to be able to create
very interesting stuff. However, I'm originally a bass player and I guess I require some hands-on action to keep it interesting. That's why I'm going to update my rig a bit.

I'm thinking that ideal set for me to produce would be:
-Korg Electribe (read a lot good about these things)
-Laptop with FL studio + NI Massive
+ Maybe a midikntrl for the FL

But my concern is, is this going to work when playing live? Is it possible to make hardware synth like electribe transfer audio straight to my FL and more importantly is it going to work while playing out live?
I know there is something like "live mode" in the FL. Any thoughts on that?

Live mode seems to interact quite well with launchpad or any pad based controller. Theres some good vids about it around.

An audio interface. It's basically an external sound card. Typically the have XLR or 1/4inch ins and out (or those combo XLR/1/4 inch plugs). There are all kinds. Focusrite make some good entry level ones. I use a lot of external gear and use a MOTU 828 MKII audio interface.

Another question popped to my head: If I'm going to get myself Electribe, do I really need FL for anything anymore? I like to use it and all, but is it just going to get in the way? Especially when performing live, it would seem more fun and even easier to just tweak around with external gear rather than click with your mouse

Looks interesting, is that update for FL 10 or is it included like let's say in the Prod. edition if I buy it?

Well what really is my concern is that I'd like mainly to use the electribe and it's sounds for producing (and as a live tool) and to create songs using FL for the arrangements.
It's just that I guess FL doesn't have "live" recording for audio so it would be like: record something from Korg -> cut it from edison > etc.

^I don't get how Edison doesn't do live recording. It certainly does. Just set it to record on Input. What's the big deal with that?

Also, which Electribe are you looking at? The ESX or the EMX? I have an ESX and love it, but honestly I think you'll find you won't want to use either model exclusively for production. They are great boxes. Great live tools. And it is possible to make entire tracks with them with out bouncing things down--but to get anything remotely contemporary sounding, no matter the genre, I don't think you'll want to use them exclusively.
