Yeah it's really odd and unnatural sounding. I literallly can't listen to it much more than 10 - 15 seconds without getting really irritated by it.wub wrote:Genevieve wrote:Am I the only one who finds the mix realllly hard to listen to? Nope, getting the feel off the track. He's made a decent enough go at the mastering but the mixdown is trying to spin too many plates at once and leaving it a bit out of sorts as a result.
I get what you mean. There's too much being thrust in your face at once - and I'm a bro/electro fan.Genevieve wrote:Yeah it's really odd and unnatural sounding. Fair to him and his fans that people are into him, so I'm not trying to rain on anybody's parade here. But I just can't listen to it myself. I've been putting a loooot more effort into my mixdowns these past few months so I guess it's rubbing off on me :p
That would be amazing, his synth work is always amazingly well done, so an ambient side project from this guy might spark my interest!zeekazi wrote:I'm not big on brostep or anything but I think in terms of the scene Xilent's one of the better ones. His drums are pretty bog standard though, any track on UKF has the same style of kick and snare but I've always been interested in his melodies and creative sound design. He said in an interview a while back that he was thinking about starting an ambient side project, been hoping for any news on that, haha.
