Possible OS X substitute for Harmor Bass resample ?

Post by TokerCoughin » Thu Nov 29, 2012 6:54 pm

So I'm sure you guys have all seen the insanely informative and awesome videos done by SeamlessR regarding how to resample / process bass sounds using edison and harmor. It's easy to understand, and the results are mind blowing for sure.

However, as a mac user myself, I find it very difficult to replicate this type of processing and resampling without Harmor. I have kontakt, and a large handful of other NI products.

An example of what I'm referring to can be found here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Azvbr3RjQRI. I would appreciate any guidance or support in achieving this type of resampling without the use of Harmor.

Thanks in advance, I sincerely hope I can get my hands on this type of sound, as it's been plaguing me for months.

~ Toker.

you dont need harmor to resample! harmor samples audio in MONO which i really hate (i own & use it a lot so i know the program sorta well)
your better off using any basic sampler.. tbh kontakt will be perfect for what your trying to achieve (better than harmor for resampling) just dig in and use it

Thanks for the reply!

I'm happy to hear I can do it with the tools I have, but could you possibly elaborate ? What should I experiment within kontakt for example ?

The Kontakt phasers are good for reeses :W:

Also, @sunny, does Harmor really sample in mono?

@TokerCoughin experiment with the EQ, distortion, phasers etc (any of the FX) and automate them with the envelopes if you want, you just have to right click a parameter to start modulating it.

@mthrfnk yes, here's how to use it in stereo (but this way u have to use all the effects twice since you have to use both parts which is a waste of CPU tbh..)

Tbf I suppose it doesn't matter for basses as they should probably be in mono to begin with - the FX you apply will still get translated in the stereo field though.

Thanks for the video though :)
