Best Dubstep?

Alrite, I'm completely new to Dubstep. I love Underground Hip-Hop (Afu-Ra, Cannibal Ox, Masta Ace) Uk Hip-Hop (Jehst, Lewis Parker, Roots Manuva) Drum and Bass and Dub. I was at a Drum and Bass rave a week ago, and right at the end they played a fucking sick tune, and it turned out to be a Dubstep track.

So I'm wondering who are the best artists for me to check out?

Thanks....

Try anything on TEMPA recordings or BIG APPLE records for a start.

If you don't like anything you hear, then perhaps it's not for you...

The 'best' artists will be the ones you like the most. You will be able to find this out by downloading one on the many DJ mixes from this forum.

I totally disagree, there's a lot more variety to Dubstep than the sounds pushed by Tempa or Big Apple. Burial, Boxcutter, Scuba or Marlow tunes for example.

Skream is on Tempa Records right? Apparently it was a Skream tune I heard. And I loved it.... the DJ slowed it down as well, and the emphasis on the bass was fucking nuts

decibella I'm totally into your pinup sigs..

as the above poster suggested.... check the mixes... constantly coming out, constantly putting you up on big tunes, new unreleased dubs, reigning bangers and everything up and around the dubstep scene... the mixtapes.de site was what put me onto dubstep at the tail end of 2005.. all the early freak-camp stuff actually - 2krazy is a don DJ!!!

Get familiar with a few DJ's, and they will put you up on the right producers... its all very much a search - confounding at first, lots of names but it all sorts itself out.. DJ's first, then producers, then tunes, then worry about labels

Okay,Okay, I only said FOR A START

A good a place as any, no doubt.

TEMPA and BIG APPLE for all their sins, are the longest running D-step labels and as such defo worth a look.

What a great way to welcome a newcomer to dubstep, start by arguing about it

Also DMZ and DEEP MEDI labels worth a look, seeing as how we're talking about variety in Dubstep...
