So I guess this is half bragging, but here goes

Was at work today and my buddy Donny rolls through, one of the biggest DJs in my small town in the Pacific Northwest, and he tells me he has big news.

"Filthfest" which the local Electronic music group based at WWU puts on this year is getting ready for it's 3rd installment, and this time he tells me we have some big guys coming to play, and my jaw sorta dropped.

(We've never had anyone more than local DJs, but he explained their budget is like 5 times what it has ever been, and West Coast sound system agreed to supply sound for free this year, along with the venue (Warehouse type place downtown) being owned by a good friend of the leader of the group.)

Booked we have 50 Carrot, Diamond Pistols and Megalodon.(50 Carrot requested an "extensive" green room)

I've been giddy all day haha, fanboy'd a little, especially the part about Megalodon. Donny informed me I'd get to probably hang out with the dudes backstage or whatever/while things get set-up all day.

I know for guys like this when they come around to play a show the last thing they probably want to talk about is production; but any burning questions you've got? I wanted to maybe compile a couple questions for Megalodon I've got, but I thought I'd ask you guys also, as your questions are probably for better worded and more technical.

:corndance: :D :D :) 8) 8) :4:

Would they rather fight 100 ducks sized horses, or 1 horse sized duck?

Production questions are shit.
Ask real questions.
I know my question was a bit silly.
Everyone likes bananas, amirite.

Ask them if they've got any demo mixes that you might not have heard of. If they've got any sense, they'll have a few CDs on them and might be able to furnish you with one.

Ask them who they are, then tell me, cos I don't have a clue.

I had to Google them. I'll give you a clue - it rhymes with 'Hoe Prep'.

Saw this go up last night, almost went in for first snarky comment and decided to go to bed instead.

Heh. Bed. :6:

____

But srsly: they're just dudes like you and me - dudes that've spent a little more time honing craft, sure, but still dudes. As much as we think they should relish the adoration we heap on them, most of the time it just makes 'em bitter and reserved... so be respectful, but don't come at it all fanboy - have some dignity. It's good to be hyped on music for sure, no shame there... just stay hyped on the music, not on the personas. Also: ask them what else they listen to besides dubstep and how they work those influences into their tunes.

And then ask them about the ducks and horses. ;-)

Don't go asking them a shiton of questions, it'll annoy them and turn them away.

Hahahahaha, I don't think it's possible to say anything on here without people finding a way around it to make you sound like a complete twat.

Of course I know it would be obnoxious to ask a million questions, even a couple would probably be annoying.

But I'd still like to let them know I appreciate what they do.
