Free Kontakt Libraries

Post by mthrfnk » Sun Dec 09, 2012 6:02 pm

Posted a couple of these before, came across some more recently:

Violins, Horns, Trumpets.

(Google translated from Japanese)
Collection of basic and unusual/borderline weird instruments (toy piano, basses, guitars, cans, drums etc...)
Also has some weird singing thing that won't work for me since I think the sample file names are in Japanese and the Kontakt patch is scripted to look for Japanese characters, except Windows kindly converted these to a load of junk English letters haha.

Strings I posted before, plus some jug drums and other weird things.

As far as I know they all work in the free Kontakt player, except you get the 15 minute demo cutoff - so if you're doing it this way you'll need to bounce out your loops from Kontakt within 15 minutes instead of leaving stuff in midi :W:

So I'm guessing these probably won't be of too much use if I already have Komplete 8 Ultimate? I'll have a look later just in case I suppose.

Probably not, aside from the alternative/weird instruments - but as for stuff like the strings and horns no.

Just depends what you want, you might prefer some of the stuff I posted to the Kontakt default stuff idk.

Is it just me or is Kontakt player completely pointless now? It;s time limited and doesn't allow you to use any of the free libraries anyway, sooo, it's basically restricted to the stock demo sounds and any official libraries you buy from NI, but still with the time restriction, what's with that?? :corntard:

Seems like a logical way to make you want to buy the product but also be able to test it out.

I've used free libraries with it... it just has the demo cutout time.
It's good if you know what sounds you want to use and already have the midi ready, you can just bang it all in and bounce the output before the cutout.
