do you think some of the most famous artists shift anything more than 20k albums ?
I have talked before with a friend who is in the industry and told me it's all about the singles and that for example, Skrillex tunes sales aren't that great...
he makes them moneyz from gigs obviously.. and supposedly made 14m in his first 2 years. (mindblown)
For example, anyone can guess how many albums did Burial shift?
I'm just curious...
Apparently album sales are really down ... another example, a rapper my mate works with sold 300k albums so far since the release , but sold over 4million singles. pretty weird eh.
Has this thread already been done? If so, please remove or lock. Thanks

going off wiki, burial unture got to 58 in the album charts
2000-3000 singles in a week will get you in to top 40 singles chart
7000 album sales in a week would get you into the top 40
*Apparently, in 2006
burial probably sold thousands by now
Bangarang went sliver in the uk - which is 60000
all speculation tho

In Kode9's RBMA lecture he said that Burial's debut sold over 20K and that Untrue sold ''a lot more''.
Also, Scuba says that Zomby's album sold 2K but I can't really believe that

With digital downloads when compared with hard CDs, single and EP sale are up, but full-length albums are down.

scary monsters and nice sprites has sold over 1.4 million copies worldwide (can 100% confirm and this was as of November)
I know a handfull of brostep artists pushed 10-20k single sales after being used on "So You Think You Can Dance" and the world series.

I don't know, Zomby advertises Dedication about once or twice every week on twitter.

Yeah but I reckon it must've sold a lot more than that, it came out on 4AD...

I find Dedication in every damn music shop I go to, even in those whose electronic music section is basically Massive Attack, Hedkandi house compilation and The Prodigy.
