Haven't posted here in a bit. I've been a hermit whilst working on my sound. I've been writing music, but I feel as though I have a hard time finishing up projects. I start by writing the hook and I usually can continue in a non-structured way, but I crave more structure in my tunes. Is starting with the hook a bad idea? FYI: I'm not a musical genius. How do I get from a Hook idea to writing an intro and build-up? For example, this loop is G Major i believe. Chords are C - Bm - Am. how do I arrange a progression to connect to this. I'm desperate, but I want to avoid those intros that compensate for musicality with a junk load of samples and sweeping sounds. That make sense?

Also any mix or writing feedback is greatly appreciated and I will return all feedback with feedback of my own on one of your tunes.

Hello...
Chord progressions are fun,I'm trying to learn to use them myself atm. Cant be of no major help, but a link to something that I have found inspiring...

Yes its a chord generator for guitarists, if you tweak the knob labelled "rake space" you get different arpeggios and strumming and you can choose and combine chords and scales...
Thats often been a great help for me when I have got stuck. So I would have been toying around with those chords you mentioned above (the arpeggiopaterns in the generator often gives me ideas and hints on how I can use the individual notes of each chord to make a melody from them), maybe for the intro some pads made up of those chords, but the more coloured versions of the chords (like Csus4 isntead of C)... I dont know, its morning in sweden, im at work (and my boss just came in through the door) and I've had only one cup of coffee, but I hop you get what Im trying to say...

Good sound design on both loops, be good to hear full tracks to see how you develop the ideas.

I appreciate the feedback. This tune is at 160 bpm. What is a good tempo for drum and bass with a little dubstep thrown in?
