Was shocked when saw I this. There has to be a few labels selling directly through them.

I bought all of the Andres releases on discogs. For someone like me in the states, there are a lot of stores that have their online store through discogs that are a lot cheaper than say ordering through boomkat/redeye/chemical etc.

That Andrés tune is way overhyped. It's an okish DJ tool, nothing more.

it's cut too fucking quietly for my liking.

it's a wicked song but i always seem to lose energy when i try mix it with anything

you think thats cut too quietly? compared to loads of other especially older tunes it's not too bad
i've had a great response playing it out

there again i'm not particularly focused on maintaining energy or maximum volume
just playing tunes i love regardless

obviously there is quieter tunes but i just expect it to be cut a lot louder than it is. same applies to all of the novel sound records (well the ones i own).

maybe it's something to do with a preference in US vinyl mastering. not hard limiting or compressing everything so hard or making everything as loud as possible in a typical UK fashion? i love mixing with the records / labels u mentioned in clubs and have no problems at all. after all if u set up a mixer right at the start of yr set you'll have some headroom. it just seems to me that this is a consideration to look past when the music is high quality.

you could be right.

it doesn't stop me from playing the tunes, nor am i unable to turn the gain up, i would just like it a bit louder :)

US vinyl pressings are often not as good as European pressings. It is often that US pressings sound like shit while they are on the other hand very expensive.

obv more expensive due to them being imported etc
but i understand that point of view
my FEELING is
whether they sound shit may depend on taste?
a lot of the great techno that's inspiring people now from back in the 80s / 90s chicago, detroit etc
the way they were cut to wax was often unrefined and raw compared to a lot (not all) european techno of the same period
it gave it a certain sound and quality
brash not meticulous
and now i reckon people are trying to produce that stuff back into their tracks
and lots of peeps going back to recording to analogue tape with no added software mastering
it's an attempt to capture that sound more associated with those US productions / pressings
a good tune is a good tune but with vinyl how it comes back off wax can put you off or turn u on
some music probably suits digital better even
anyway, just some thoughts

I'm inclined to agree , I love Andrés tunes , but this is not his best music by a long shot , and this is coming from someone who's really into that sound.
Glad I bought it anyway for "Drama Around The Corner"

I'm still bothered that when Andrés New For U hit RA's #1 for top tracks of 2012 - all the prices sky rocketed on discogs. Went from $11 USD to $45 overnight. I just was waiting for someone to have a couple of items that I wanted to make the shipping worth it. :u:
Last sold on Nov 30, 2012
$16.02 Average
$15.34 Median
$26.30 Highest
$10.99 Lowest
Either way there is a lot of great music on that list.
