Logic: Using Stereo Output As An Input

Does anybody know how to set the stereo output as an input into an audio channel to be recorded without all the hassles of using Soundflower etc? I know technically I could bounce but I don't want to ruin the flow by closing the project...

I know bouncing is really just re-recording the signal so I don't know why Logic don't easily allow you to set the output as an input :o

Bounce in place with mutes/solos on seldom has the right effect/outcome for me...

Make an aggregate audio device and use sound flower as the input.

Alternatively route everything thru a bus and record the aux return.

Didn't really want to bother with SoundFlower really as I mentioned! The routing to a bus idea was my conclusion too but was just making sure there wasn't an easier way I hadn't figured out. Nice one Sharm.

Its probably its own internal failsafe of a massssive internal feedback loop. It would literally blow the shit out of your speakers

^ exactly. this, in turn, ALWAYS happens in a PT session when capturing the output through a summing box, etc. engineer loses the signal, finds the signal, OH SHIT-

I know! The first time it happened to me I was just clicking away and then WTF WAS THAT?!?! it sounded like a thousand bitcrushers screaming in pain all at once. It actually made me fall off my chair once

You could make the stereo out go out through a bus and just delete the aux in the mixer view. And you'd have to make sure the track you're recording into doesn't have an output.

I did think of that but you can't send the stereo out to a bus, otherwise this would be simple...

Yeh this is what I have explained to the other people who've mentioned the feedback loop, if there's no output on the recording channel then there's no issue. :a:
