That woman made no sense in regards to what I'm talking about...
What - I'm supposed to threaten no babies if I'm not allowed on the decks?
I'm talking about women making their way through a male dominated industry
She's talking about being ungrateful for being segregated from it for our own safety...
This is completely not the direction I thought this thread would go - This is way more reducing...reduced to safety for babies.
I'll see you guys later - I'll be in the kitchen being grateful for the safety of my babies.
lol - starts crying in an empty corner of my mom's kitchen...

Fuck - Let's start again...
Let's say - That I as a female have somehow managed to escape the burning building without the babies....
and I decide to enter the world of nightclubs with DJ skills...
What sort of issues do you think I might encounter - that are gender specific.
I can name a bunch - I'm just curious what YOU GUYS - men and other ladies of the forum perceive them to be...
Role play for me - You're a female DJ and say you need some help with learning levels, generally understanding a large system -
before you even attempt to run up in the club...How do you get better?
Am I allowed to approach men - or is that courting under the guise of learning?
I mean - I know that the idea is going to pass through a persons head...
I'm not anti - hooking up with someone I work with but -
I am very conscious - I know there is a 99.8% chance that it won't work
and I'm still willing to give the music a chance in light of the relationship potential failure
-just to put that aside and work on the music thing for a minute
or would you just prefer to chill with a male when nothing is wetting the dick?
I'd rather be around my dude friend than an un-sexable female - type thing.

Only urinals? Boobs catch on the fader? Not covering up in saudi arabia? Its not as if its gonna be that different from other non gender specific jobs. Im not an international dj but im guessing that theres a room with ppl in and equipment and when its ur turn u go on the equpment and do your thing and leave. Promoters can be sketchy- not a gender issue. You gotta be safe making your way to and from the venue - basic common sense. Your in a club so imagine being in a club but getting paid. There may be drunken men who might thrust themselves upon you - we are after all, male. Is this serious grounds for discussion or a thinly veiled ploy to spark up a debate on gender equality? I thought it was thats why i posted some counter resources.

Ok Butterman...or whoever
Say a chubby hippy looking girl approaches you in the club and asks if you spin records...because she is looking for someone to practice with...
What goes through your mind - honestly...you are with friends they are getting drinks and will return in a minute..
or would that even happen - What kind of conversation would have to happen to get to that point...
Would you have to see her in the club everytime you go out for like 4-6 months before she would even approach you - as someone she knows as a regular by sight?

Like, i dunno. Its not a big deal unless you make it. It is what it is, if it is what it is but the fact thats an issue in the first place may mean it isnt what it is. So if ur just asking this guy to mix and he's got an elephant man head none of the friendsll think its anything but mixing but if he looks like zeus and youve got ur man-buffet-havent eaten in a year' eyes on then its not what it is and its on you g.
I would be sttod there reflecting as all this goes thhrough ur head.

so...what happened?
If the guy has an elephant head - it would be ok...but if he is Zeus like and I smile it could get complicated...
I'm definatly going to smile - I'm probably going to be full on blushing - I never approach people - I am SUPER SUPER shy.
I may even open my mouth to say one thing - and speak what you are thinking instead....really awkward those moments.
