The dubstep is dead facebook polemics

Biome posted this ons his personal facebook a few minutes ago:
"I've decided if the 140bpm stuff is dying off and the next new thing to go to is supposed to be techno or house I'm gna go back to doing dnb. i need to hear some new music that excites me not 10min long loops with little glitchy perc sounds and the same 1 note string throughout. Listened back to a 90's dance classics CD yesterday and it was so much more interesting than today's music. I actually think we're at the point where we've let technology take over the music. things I hear today sound like the producer had more fun messing around with toys than we do listening to it - just my opinion"
And then N Dread:
"Why do people get so hung up on Genres and Tempo? It's just frequencies within 20hz - 20khz (theoretically), You either like the music or you don't. Y be so bothered about the speed, baffles me!"
So, producers, what are your views on this matter?
In my opinion, there are so many soundboys right now trying to kill and demoralize a sound just because they don't feel or play/produce it anymore. I can understand that this whole commercial bullshit with artists like Seven Lions and Kill The Noise putting out bland, boring and generic music got people tired and disappointed with 140bpm music aka dubstep, but I fail to see how a genre of music can simply "die", especially with all the new producers in the scene. At least for me, this whole 130 bpm housey thing is a bandwagon as big as the trap / electro house one is. People worry too much about naming genres and trying to guess what's the next big musical hype thing rather than making beats that get people moving and feeling. Good music doesn't gets old
sorry for any typos.

I'm not that fussed,if they want to leave a scene because they see it as a dying off let them leave. It makes me laugh with dnb how this really happened with the explosion of "clownstep" and elitist nob's hating on the likes of pendulum, nosia entering the scene.Dnb will never die off, exactly the same as dubstep or 140 stuff as biome called it.In the end people will listen and go out to clubs that cater for their needs so there will always be a market for all genres no matter who grumbles and makes headlines about it.As music becomes popular of course you are going to get all sorts producing it but that doesn't mean you need to listen all of it.There is gems in every genre who will always get recognition for the fact they don't sound like the herd.
Not one person owns a genre so not one person can decide the fate of that genre, that is for the masses to decide!
Biome really should be greatful for what the "140 scene" has provided him with rather than bitching and moaning because he sees the scene as dying.

I feel like EDM is turing into metal, with all the sub genres. Its pretty annoying tbh, with all the elitists going " its not death metal, its technical melodic death core with hints of folk/ viking black metal.
all these fuckers who decide to produce what is hot at the moment, don't have any influence on the music scene. They're simply bandwagoners and in the long run, will be the reason the listeners loose interest. Its the people who are innovative and creative who will prevail, and they'll keep doing what theyre doing even if nobody plays their music at the big raves.

can understand why biome would be especially pissed off since there are so many producers copying his sound right now, fair enough if he's wanting to try something new
in general though, i'd rather hear a producer just get on with making new shit rather than announcing it to get some kind of cool points

I think he's more pissed off about how people keep saying that dubstep is dead, that people should move on to "something new" and this "something new" is just plain boring. Point is, rather than being in a specific bpm or genre, music should be good, it needs more than a groundbreaking polished production, it needs to get people moving.

if the stuff is selling you can't really blame the producers, can't get mad at the fountain get mad at the people drinking it up
then again if it's selling there is obviously an audience for it albeit slightly malignant to the artists beneath the surface of mainstream culture

I could ramble here...as I often do...but i wont...at the end of the end of the day I make sounds that Im feeling. Regardless of genre conventions. I do my thing. Ironically the last two tunes I started were DnB. I do remember...vaguely...when people showed up to a party because it was a party...to celebrate life w strangers who became friends and family. End.

Easy with the DSF hate man. Thread was inspired by FKOFs facebook post asking the same thing. Don't get why everyone's so upset, this is dubstepforum, a place to discuss dubstep and everything related. So, it's more than obvious that with all those declarations going up earlier on facebook it would spawn a discussion. I already sent Biome an inbox and I will gladly edit the thread, pretty sure any mod will take it down at request too. This isn't a thread for hating on Biome's or N Dread's or anyone else's opinion, more of a thread where people can post their views about the scene as producers and/or DJs but the discussion obviously went a different way.
Producers and DJs who get nothing but compliments and support by the vast majority of the users put so much effort on hating this place and it's members.

I know the board is far from ideal but it was and still is a starting place for some amazing musicians. Tons of great threads that surely helped someone at some point.
Sorry for my faulty english, hope nothing was lost in translation. Also, sorry if I pissed off anyone, it never was my intention to "troll" people.
my sincere apologies and all of best man!

Do you know what now you mention that i just read it again lol.I missed the IF
I may have misread the 140 hate bit but know matter what he is still hating on the people who he possibly inspires so he still comes across a bit of a spoilt elitist tnuc
