music consumption

Post by neonmansion » Wed Jan 30, 2013 3:43 am

been nerding out of music lately.. Aka listening to tons of Mixes, looking up wiki pages, labels, blogs.. learning about tons of new artists from various genres, niches

however, there is so much Good stuff out there that its impossible to really know what to listen to. I mean i hear so much stuff I like but by the time I favorite a track, download an ep, whatever there are another 10 artists that are just as good.

what do you music heads do to make any sense out of this over-saturated music market?

check the new vinyl releases
if I don't know the tunes, I listen to the samples
if I like 'em, I buy it
if I don't, I don't.

rest of the monthly budget gets spent on classics and things I've missed out on.

Listen to radio and go to nights, otherwise it`s from a forum or having a look at random stuff.

Go to nights,

meet new people,

hear things on a system,

see things in context,

don't always listen to dance music,

:)
