Going to check out Brian Eno, I've always seen his name but never really did any searching.

Apollo, The Pearl (with Harold Budd), and No Pussyfooting (with Robert Fripp) are my favourite albums of his

Oh god I could go on and on, I've been working on an atmospheric DnB LP for awhile now most stuff at 160ish, but that's sidetracking (also in that vein check out Ulrich Schnauss' XL8R Podcat wub linked on here, ambient artist doing an all old school atmospheric dnb mix)
So yea I kind of blur the line between post-rock and ambient.
I'm really amped for Ulrich Schnauss' new LP
So I'm gonna be odd and post some post-rock, dark ambient, and some normal chill stuff to recommend

Post-Rock

Port-Royal is seriously an amazing band, I linked to them covering Radiohead before on here, just they're not known too much being an Italian band and post-rock

Explosions in the Sky are amazing, they did the score to Friday Night Lights in case anyone else watched that show
Other bands to note: This Will Destroy You, God Is An Astronaut, Library Tapes, Lights Out Asia, Mogwai, Sigur Ros

Dark Ambient

Lustmord every ambient fan should own his entire discography, the man is a master of ambient and creates some of the most tense and dark sounding soundscapes around.

Chill Normal shit

RIP Pete, their collabs were ill

now that you sat through that I put out some shit under an alias a couple years back just trying to get over a bad breakup while depressed as fuck for pay what you want http://drownindreams.bandcamp.com/

Some of you are mistaking pleasent/soft music for being ambient music.
