Yeah, I know I been a bit slack about posting this here
!113g@1 v@1u3 (or “Illegal Value” for those not leet/1337 compliant
) began in late 2004, the brainchild of DJ Shards for a regular event to promote local producers & practitioners of under-represented & emerging Breaks’n’Bass styles in Brisbane..... Dubstep, Grime, Glitch Garage, GhettoTech, Nu-School Breakcore & Old-School Body-popping Electro; be it cranky or crazy, cutting-edge or challenging- anything goes, so long as it's got a predominant Breakbeat and/or Bassline you can dance to, but that you usually don't hear played in a club.
Since then it has helped foster a new Underground Breaks community, showcasing the diverse Broken Beat talents of South-East Queensland; and in the last year featured Interstate & International guests such as Dubstep don Quiet Storm (Storming Productions/UK) & Farj of Aussie Breakstep pioneers Garage Pressure (Sydney).
After a 6 month hiatus, !113g@1 v@1u3 boots back up for the first time in 2007 & if you were ever curious to check out what it's all about, there's no better time than this! With the Monster Zoku Onsomb having steam-rolled Über into submission with their Monster Mash in recent months (and fine work they did too
), our subcontractors now move in to finish the job- starting with:
22:00 Simulcast LIVE A/V + Cut’n’Scratching from Fetus
23:00 Symbiotek (Byron)- Body-popping Electro
00:00 Karmalicious- Glitch Breaks
01:00 Frosty- Dubstep & Sublow
02:00 Shards- Technoid D&B
03:00 Aniki- Bass Mashup

Lots more to come from !V in the remaining year, hope to see you there! http://www.myspace.com/illegalvalue
