Surprised Beneath didn't make new producer or 120-140 producer.

voted :

> Wen (rhink this category was very weak in terms of nominies, loads of solid new names doing fresh things overlooked. Write this one down as Keysound support)
> Bunzer0 : support Belgian massive but also a legend that's been as important to the spread of dubstep on mainland Europe as the likes of Joe Nice in the USA. Plus the FOB show is the only one I try to catch on a regular basis (mostly through the archives unfortunately).
> Hessel Audio (Bandshell, Pearson Sound, Pangaea and especially Elgato)
> Sullen Tone (three substantial and extremely varied EP's, loads more content than some of the others with only one release for example)
> VIVEK - Asteroids (simply my favourite of the bunch, another couple of essentials missing here imho)
> Skipped best remix, none of those were in my top 10. Only knew a handful of them so didn't seem fair to vote
> Shackleton : the weakest category to be honest. None of those even made my top 10, Shackleton came in highest on my list. Close call with LHF
> Skipped best mix/podcast
> FOB show
> SUB.FM
> Skipped Best Vocalist
> Electronic Explorations: awesome compilation and always a good show
> Blawan : another poor category. Where was Hessle Audio? Beneath? Blawan had 2 decent EP's so went with that.
> Pinch : on accord of his Dour 2012 and Untitled! sets.
Cheers DSF for the work and the opportunity to give something back! And thanks to the artists and heart goes out to the ones that aren't in there but should be!

Really? Mala only released Stand Against War / Maintain Thru Madness and his album.DiegoSapiens wrote:wow didn´t expect kahn ahead from mala
Kahn released one of the biggest grime tunes of last year (Percy), released Dread which everybody tipped as being his first medi release, Gorgon Sound - Find Jah Way a dubby tune and his Gorgon Grime tape. Hes been a busy lad! I'm not saying all these are better than what Mala has put out but I'm certainly not surprised he's ahead of Mala.
However Deep Medi had an incredible year which I assume kept him very busy.

Re: Dubstepforum Awards 2013 : VOTING OPEN
Kahn had a sick year but in Mala in Cuba there is some pure gold IMO. Last year Mala won best producer with only a few release and a remix that were made year ago, this year he has renovated his music not only working with all the cuban musicians but making sick Lives as the Electric Brixton was. Anyway I voted Dread as the best tune.Muncey wrote:Really? Mala only released Stand Against War / Maintain Thru Madness and his album.DiegoSapiens wrote:wow didn´t expect kahn ahead from mala

+Backchat/Dubchat, Polar, Margeaux, Cold In You Remix, and Way Mi Defend VIP tipped up. Not including all the Percy versions too.Muncey wrote: Kahn released one of the biggest grime tunes of last year (Percy), released Dread which everybody tipped as being his first medi release, Gorgon Sound - Find Jah Way a dubby tune and his Gorgon Grime tape. Edit: If Commodo continues the way he's started 2013 theres not much hope for anyone else

I see what you're getting at, if you thought Mala In Cuba was that good i understand you picking Mala but it didn't do that much for me.DiegoSapiens wrote:yh but i am not talking about the quantity as the quality,
I find myself drawing for the Kahn releases much more.
Edit: @Diego Sapiens I don't think Way Mi Defend VIP's been played on radio/in a studio mix yet, ive seen it played out by Kahn & Mala though so it definitely exists

Yeah, hes had a busy year and everything hes put out has been at a high standard covering many genres and styles. However much I love Mala in Cuba it just isn't enough to top all those releases.Johoosh wrote:+Backchat/Dubchat, Polar, Margeaux, Cold In You Remix, and Way Mi Defend VIP tipped up. Its nice to see the bluring between 140 and 120-140 with both producers and DJs popping up in both catagories.
