all dubstep sets please

Am I the only one who doesn't find all-dubstep sets boring?
the diehard dubstep djs are confined to 10pm (& only if they include some garage, techno & popstep)
then we get a rapid deterioration into ravey bass music and house...
Am I taking the wrong drugs nowdays (i.e. none)?
Are producer djs feeling impelled to cater to the influx of clueless dullards that would bounce & drink to anything?
Why isn't the incredible range of dubstep not being played out in single sets?

You're listening to the wrong DJs I think. There's going to be SOMEONE at least who appeals to you.

What do you think of the 2006 set on th board? I was probably there, it was probably fun

i myself prefer variation with sets.. it's kinda dull if a dj let alone several djs in one night play the exact same kind of sound with the same vibe and bpm.. regardless of what particular genre it is you can have too much of one thing

I suppose...

Maybe this will make you a bit happier?
Soundcloud

I haven't properly going out but I heard 2 pretty good b2b dubstep<>dnb djs in the same room recently

Not substep, but close enough for a change

yeah but Tee-Freqs doesn't play out that often & the last bastion, SNARE, had less & less ds

huh? which set? Even in 06, VOID sets here tended to have too much grime.
thanks but tbh I prob won't listen to the mix,
got lots of good mixes to listen to, talking about live sets.

@ topmoB: that seems to be the common reason
but imo that indicates a lack of imaginative use of the broad range of ds

i find it really annoying when djs try and cram in as many genres as possible into a set

I think the best DJ for mixing it up but keeping it really flowing is icicle. Real smooth transitions.

Did you chck out my last get darker set Sd5? Unfortunately it's difficult to hear good imaginative DJ's play out.

I think dbridge plays really good diverse sets. Defo for mixes the kokeshi podkasts are really decent.

^that's kindv my point
there may be others out there hankerin for a ds only set
having to listen to all these mash-ups of less-appreciated music

@testesreordering:
the raggmuffin set had, unsurprisingly, a lot of reggae
the 2006 skeam set shows all-dubstep was & is viable
@grillis:
a la pm, proposed setlist shows the variety available
@B-1ne:
like watching a weather system move in with roiling clouds and far thunder...
there's little of this downbeat roller sound played out nowdays (never was)
because it was considered too chin-scratchy & didn't please the front row wanting to brock out
but imo it always has its place particularly on a big system
@nev: come ahead

in the offerings above alone,
even without touching on Cyrus/Pinch/Beneath/SPL/Boot/Matty G/Ikonika/Guido/Tolerance/Vaccine/RSD/Flippo/Gantz/Killowatt etal styles
there's enough unadulterated dubstep for a couple of gigs

Mixing is not something that I do publically
but consider,
what dubstep tunes could substitute for post(dubsteppost)urings in this fantastic mix:

apologies for being obscure about its origins
but regulars will get the drift
without me having to ignore oft-ignored forum rules
