Re: The 38th Parallel - The Doberman (The Heavy Stuff)
dude some of your bass sounds are pure evil
and the intro section is sick especially the white noise explosion when the drums come in.
only 2 things i noticed that you might want to look in to.
1st. the kick and the snare seem to get lost during the drop. you might try doing an eq cut on all your basses at what ever frequency the fundamental of your kick and snare is (use a frequency analyzer for this). then throw some sidechain compression on the basses (just enough to get the kick to poke out a bit more but not so much that you get the pumping effect). if theyre still getting kinda lost, make your eq cuts a little more aggressive and give the kick/snare a boost at their fundamentals.
2nd. this might be more subject to taste than the other thing. but during the drop you've got a synth doing a pitch dive over the bassline. i personally think its sitting a little loud in the mix and has a little too much reverb on it. it kinda takes some of the listeners attention off of your really brutal bass line.
awesome track though.

DUDE! Great advice!!! This is what I post on these forums for!!! I agree with you and will check my EQ's and try some light Sidechaining. On the pitch dive, I could agree that it probably is just a bit to loud. As far as the Reverb goes I was already thinking of changing that because it doesn't exactly match what I envisioned which was a sort of "Fly By" synth, meaning that I wanted it to sound like it was coming from far away and then passing very fast. Once again a great comment.gwisdalaj wrote:dude some of your bass sounds are pure eviland the intro section is sick especially the white noise explosion when the drums come in.
