Choking Hi Hats in Fruity Loops?

I've been roaming around trying to figure out a way to choke an open hi hat with a closed hi hat in Fl Studio. And can't seem to figure it out. Any tips?

For example: the hi hats in Kryptic Minds Badman VIP.

Does that mean cutting it when the other plays? If so just load it into FL's sampler and make sure the "cut by" numbers are the same on both samples

Listening to the song, it just sounds like the open hat is a short sample that is being played over the closed hats. If you can't find the right sample ASDR will help you out in that area in shortening up the sample.

This helped. But i had to set the cut by numbers differently (open hit hat 2-1, closed hi hat 1-2) for it to work. Thanks.

the same cut / cut by settings work within individual pads in FPC as well.

Just go to the cut itself, don't mess w the numbers. Than whenever you want to choke it. Just make another note of it in the piano roll, but with the velocity all the way down. Works everytime.

Could also enable the custom amp env in the fl sampler, make it a square and put a note in the piano roll with the length you wish for it to play.

Brotulhu, Rando (and I guess OP),

Thank you so much. Can't believe I didn't know that before.

or even easier is to hit "use loop points" and set the loop points to the largest increment.

Couldn't you just place another open hat in the same spot as the closed hat and put the velocity (of the open hat used to choke) at zero? It works on the step sequencer, if you're using that
