On February 2, 2013, TexasDUB, a DJ, promotional and production organization founded in Houston, celebrated its 5-Year Anniversary. To commemorate this event in U.S. bass music culture and gear up for SXSW, a compilation of original music from TexasDUB artists was arranged.
From Dubstep and Trillstep (which features Texas rap artists over original bass music tracks and was first coined by BadbwoyBMC), to Dubwise and Trap, the album is comprised of 15 selections featuring works by beatmakers and vocalists such as Badbwoy BMC, Dread Foxx, Intager, N9NE, Suma, Royal B, Big Ben, Nick Beatdown, Chelsmosis, Vandal Heart, as well as Joe B. and Werd2Jah. This free release is presented in part by the Texas-based label Eye-Ten Recordings.
Since 2008, TexasDUB has hosted events showcasing artists such as, 12th Planet, 6Blocc, Antiserum, Jakes, Noah D, Rednek, Reso, Roommate, Stagga, and Stenchman, as well as other international, U.S. and Texas-based DJs and producers.
