When I was 3 - perhaps 4, but no older than 5 - I was given the "Thong Song" by Sisqo on tape. I really liked that song, so my brother got it for me one day.
Just discogs'd it, I was 5 when it came out.

1st thing i ever asked for was either a reggae hits cassette off some TV commercial (bob marley/aswad/inner circle etc...)
or it was when i went w/ my dad to the mall & bought smashmouth - astro lounge when it was new lol (also on cassette)

i think the first album i ever got was a metallica cassette tape for my 7th or 8th birthday (didnt even like metallica). the first cd i ever bought myself was korn - issues in 1999 or 2000. dont remember first vinyl (first time i went diggin i bought like a dozen records though, not just 1), that was 5 or 6 years ago.
