snare is weak dude and not enough perc - the melody overides the bass wobble - sounds like im being harsh there but will bennefit the tune if you tweak all the little problems - mario sample is novel lol.

Yea I was wondering how to get that "umph"out of the snare but couldn't. do you think you could recommend me a video that would help?krease wrote:snare is weak dude and not enough perc - the melody overides the bass wobble - sounds like im being harsh there but will bennefit the tune if you tweak all the little problems - mario sample is novel lol.

use the right samples dude get some off the net - i layer 2 or 3 usually one really thuddy/thick snare sound and a clap or rim shot with reverb on it - depends on the snare ure going for - sometimes i just use a woodblock or whatever dude.

Ahh, layering multiple snares, will definitely use that advice. Thanks!krease wrote:use the right samples dude get some off the net - i layer 2 or 3 usually one really thuddy/thick snare sound and a clap or rim shot with reverb on it - depends on the snare ure going for - sometimes i just use a woodblock or whatever dude.

Alot of getting a punchy snare is just about practice bro :3Brenzy wrote:Yea I was wondering how to get that "umph"out of the snare but couldn't. do you think you could recommend me a video that would help?krease wrote:snare is weak dude and not enough perc - the melody overides the bass wobble - sounds like im being harsh there but will bennefit the tune if you tweak all the little problems - mario sample is novel lol.
For instance, compression, layering, heavy Eq'ing and careful sample choice all contribute hugly to a good snare sound
It'll take time but you will start to learn the in's and outs of it soon enough
