Freerotators?

Post by the wiggle baron » Thu Mar 21, 2013 2:14 pm

Well, I dont know about you guys...but my excitement level just went through the roof. Just got to keep a lid on it now till July...bah!

Me and my lady got our ticket codes through yesterday, and the line up was announced too! All feels real now :D

So yeah...

Patrice Scott · Skudge (live) · DJ Qu · Burnt Friedman (live) · Karenn (feat. Blawan and Pariah) (live) · The Black Dog (live) · Aybee (live) · Benjamin Brunn (live) · Objekt · Samuli Kemppi (live) · Felix Lenferink (live) · John Heckle (live) · Hakim Murhpy · DJ Spider · Matt Pond · Leah Floyeurs · Juniper · Mark Hand (live) · Delta Funktionen · Tripcode (live) · Hessle audio feat. Pangaea, Ben UFO, Pearson Sound · Shackleton (live) · Magic Mountain High (live) · Sven Weisemann · Tama Sumo · Lakuti · Peverelist · Move D · Soulphiction (live) · Portable (live) · Juju and Jordash ·
Tom Demac (live) · Tom Ellis (live) · Jane Fitz · Efdemin · XDB · Leif · Joe Ellis · October · Yusaku Shigeyasu · Sam Watson · Myles Serge · Ilmajaam · Earthdoctor · Reflektor (live) · Dennis McTurk · Mono-poly (live) · Grimes Adhesif · Suade · J-Lab · Sammy String · Diffuse (live) · Christina Wheeler (live) · Steevio & Suzybee (live) ·

...why not? lol

Not that its really about the line up though. I went to my first couple freerotations knowing almost nothing about the artists playing, and had the best weekends of my life. Completely changed the music I listen to. Cant wait to introduce my girlfriend to the freero family...think its going to be a pretty game changing weekend for her as well! She comes completely from the band/indie world, but over the course of the last 4/5 years have turned her from being fairly anti-electronic music, to an absoloute lover of good dance music. Think the 12th-15th July this year will be a massive eye opener :D

Ahh good blimey. Way to excited.

Yeah an old mate has been going/playing since the beggining I think and Ive heard so many good things about it.

yeah the venue is wicked, can you stay in the dorms at freerotation ?

on new years there was a competition to win the master bedroom with a 4 poster bed and marble hot tub! managed to sneak in for a bit but wouldve been sick to stay there, had to cwtch in the boot of my mates car in the end

CATCH DAT WORM DICCON

I just feel i can finally sleep easy now ive actually got my ticket code! Still got a couple friends to invite, so that will be a bit of a panic with the 300 person limit, but still, me and my girlfriend all sorted! Ahh yeah!

Heres something interesting! DMZ are listed and have a link from the freerotation friends section. Awesome to see! Would love to know where the crossover comes from. Obviously theres a few links from the old days on the line ups, shackleton and the hessles really. Bumped into pinch last year too. But never seen any of the dmz gang...can totally see why they would be 'friends' though. Totally different music, exactly the same ideals!

yep yep! Me and my lady got our ticket codes a few days ago. Sigh of relief...

Now to try and get a couple friends invited! It all seems noticably harder this year. Only out of necessity of course, seems suzy and steevio are having to do everything they can to try and keep the lid on this thing a bit! 200 new memberships is going to be a real race. Especially with the old website being brought to its knees everytime theres tickets for sale :/ But from a selfish point of view I couldnt be happier...got my ticket code, and now ill be able to apply for the superearlybird tickets in november thank god!

And cheers ben, had no idea. Must have been a bit of a strange fit for the night? Im guessing it was room 2? Heard steevio calling it the dubstep room before hehe

ha dammit, im afraid I only have the very vaguest memory of that. A classic firsttimechemn00b error from myself that night i think - "its been ages now and i feel fine, ill just finish em" - lead to myself having the following night: no real memory of the last hour or so of hessle audio, aside from the occasional snapshot of "oh my lord this is unbelievable"...followed by mind, body & soul getting wheeled causing a COMPLETE inability to stop jumping. Then while leaving the room to go for a quick smoke, trying to say cheers to ben for the set but finding out I had lost the ability to talk. Followed then by only 2 clear memories of shackleton - 1) having my mind played with in his hands like putty, 2) death is not final...

Then while gradually returning to earth, portable just took me away again...probably my highlight of the weekend. Was an amazing set. Room really empty actually, but was the perfect mood for the room. Found out the other day that my mate Luke knows portable fairly well and had been with him during shackleton the set before. Apparently portable was really taken aback by shackletons performance. And the whole room was really feeling the intense, hypnotic sound. So when he stepped up to play he played a real downtempo hypnotic set. Was absoloutely amazing...his rendition of find me that night was just incredible...hats off to the man for soaking up what was going on before him!

Sorry, i really cant talk about that night without going into detail can I...it was wonderful. If you can furnish me with anymore information about what happened in between these points I would love to hear lol

that mala set was room 1 actually. max nearly got chucked out for pulling up one of his records by steevio who had i guess no frame of reference for that kind of behaviour at all
