Fast pitch modulation on sub??

I just watched a tut about using a ableton's sampler with a bounced out sine wave to use as the sub bass in a track. This has been great and given me a CPU light way to do low end. This video did talk about putting a LFO very very lightly on the pitch at times. I guess this gives the sub a sorta quick pulsing feel. I have never heard of this technique and was wondering if any of you guys did this

I can say I haven't heard of modulating the pitch of a sub unless it's a drop in pitch, it seems like it might drown the sound. I can say I have heard of modulating the amplitude/level with an lfo so it feels like it's pulsating. It's faint to hear on lower-end speakers, but on a nice system your whole body feels it, especially if you have it layered with mid-range and/or hi-end sounds. To me, it's pretty parallel to setting up a "ghost hit" as a sidechain trigger on a sub. PS: This effect works pretty nice on pads too

its a cool effect that not many people do, go for it f it sounds good man.

this is a tune that did very subtlety, but it sounds awesome on subs in the car.

its a shame noone can find any other songs from this guy
