About the large number of "dubstep history" mixes

Loving the dubstep history mixes recently, as well as mixes like Joe Nice's Lost Dubs mix, but why does it always has to be "Youngta's playing old stuff for the first hour only", "this week's a special history mix" OR all brand new dubs? Anyone else wishing more DJs played a mix of older AND newer stuff? For example, D1 did a mix recently where he dropped a few older tunes like Neverland and they didn't sound out of place at all. C'mon DJs, drop Qawalli, or Fallen or Root in your mixes! You're good DJs - make it work!
Who's with me?
Anyone?

I recently said this in another thread.
It shouldnt be called "history lessons" or SPECIALS..
These tunes shud jus be included AS STANDARD.
As i said before, its like everything has to be NEW NEW EXCLUSIVE EXCLUSIVE
Most Dj's are forgetting what they played & wheeled up 8 times*, a year ago.
I really doubt them tunes have lost impact on their hearts, and doesnt make em feel the same way as back then.
Cause i still feel Neverland* as if it was the 3rd time i heard it.
Maybe theres too many tunes being made atm, or gtting handed out too quickly or something.. cause some releases are STILL as slow as they were back then.
My IMO, no doubt guna have more to say as this discussion grows.

I'm only a bedroom Dj like, but i couldn’t imagine playing without including tracks from 05-07 or what ever.
I thought this was just because i used to only play hip hop and its hard to get decent tracks from post 2000 so i don’t know better.
I don’t like the way tunes are used abused then tossed to the back of the shelf only to be brought back when reminiscing.

solution: play the tune that is SUPPOSED to be in the mix next because it would sound good and flow well, not because DJ Whosamafuck just gave it to ya.
we all are gonna tend to play our new stuff we just got each time (it's the way of things...always fun to play new stuff), but not at the expense of the flow. if it's 5 years old, and it's what would sound good after a particular tune, then i'm gonna play it.

I know what you are saying but old tunes get played. To my normal live audience it's all new to them and I enjoy the fact that I can play pretty much anything I have and don't have to be concered about the release date. Why would I anyway? I don't buy records to have them collect dust on my shelf. Good music>latest shite.

Should drop tunes from any year into every set alongside new stuff. For one thing it helps quality control- put a lot of newer tunes next to Request Line or Ruffage or Kalawanji and they just wouldn't stand up in my view.
