What sort of gear/equipment do you think actress uses in order to achieve his sound on stuff like this...

A lot of the sound is purely just from downsampled/bitcrushed samples and synths.

He's definitely using Elektron's Machinedrum and Monomachine. Some other things too;

He likes to take the music out of the computer too though. Think that's how he ends up with quite unpredictable arrangement etc..

But yeah if you'd have to name one piece of gear connected to Actress, it's the Elektron Monomachine I think.

those elektron machines look very complicated... was looking at the elektron analog four not so long ago though.

They're not complicated at all - but a hell of a lot of fun to use. Very inspiring pieces of gear. :)

Lot's of bitcrushing and overdrive, god knows what else. His tunes are so imaginative, it reminds me of dreams and the subconscious. Pretty much pointless trying to replicate.
