Woke up and watched the sun rise. Made a beat.

Hahaha Thank you man, I really just a care a lot about melody and finding different ways to get things stuck in the listeners head, Im still a newb when it comes to EQ, Compression, and mixing so my tunes still sound flat and lack punch which is why I come here, hoping for some info on how to make my sounds more deep and full. I made the beat out of individual hits, I usually just start by recreating something out of my head. I'll be pouring a bowl of cereal and beatboxing and then run over the computer haha Thanks for the listen man!MrPies wrote:Hi,
Sunrise where you live sound quite harrowing!
I wasn't sure if I liked this at first to be honest, but it was still in my head when I went to take a leak so I have decided I do
You have a very different sound - and I mean that as a compliment. The drums in that are pretty sick! Did you make that out of individual drum hits? If so, great job!
I like to come up with constructive criticism, or something I would change usually. Can't think of anything.
Cheers,
Piesy
Same reason I am here Ratcub, that is why I couldn't advise any further unfortunately. I didn't think your tune sounded flat personally....but I am a newb as wellRATCUB wrote: ...Im still a newb when it comes to EQ, Compression, and mixing so my tunes still sound flat and lack punch which is why I come here, hoping for some info on how to make my sounds more deep and full.
Yea man I have shit headphones and Im currently packing up to move so I can't use my moniters so I'm literally guessing when I'm Eqing. So lame. I need to sit down for a couple weeks and just practice mixing.MrPies wrote:Same reason I am here Ratcub, that is why I couldn't advise any further unfortunately. I think that my equipment is letting me down at the moment (ooh er), the speakers/headphones I am using just can't deal with the range of frequencies.
All I know of E.Q is scoop out the frequencies that a prominent in one element out of all the rest, and sparingly boost. Basics.
I take it this is not news to you so I will let other people advise.
