Monitor life span

Yo, I got my Krk 6s somewhere around 2 years ago and I was just wondering if monitors had a sort of lifespan where afterwards their quality and accuracy would start to deteriorate. On a side note, does anybody else feel that the mids on the krk 6s are a bit muddy and boomy? Whenever my ears get used to my dt770s and I switch back to my monitors my midrange sounds like a mess.

I'm sure if the monitors are well taken care of they'll last decades. However, I'm no expert.

I really don't care for my dt770s. The seem to not have that great of a bass response and sound a bit shrill. Maybe mine are duds.

Yes krks are known for having slightly hyped and muddy upper lows/lower mids. That's the exact reason I went with fostex pm1 mk2s. Very neutral sounding monitors for the price

Give them a good dust-off every now and then, dont play them ridiculously loud and keep them away from liquid. They should last for bare time.

Yea. Personally having owned KRK Rokit 6's for four years I can't help but dissuade people from buying them. That is a terrible area for things to be muddy. If you've owned KRKs for a few years, save up some cash and get something more accurate. Mixing is a whole new world when that area gets cleared up.

Get as much as you can for the KRKs then bail ;p
