So I'm taking my g/f to see Alkaline Trio later this month

convince me I'm not going to have a terrible time. I literally know nothing about this band
In NJ/NY to meet/see her fam. As I can't miss much work, getting off the plane, taking a shit, and heading to times square to see said band. Not 100% thrilled about the schedule but ok doing it for her.
Anywho, someone explain to me why they are awesome, why they suck, and anything relevant to making the best of this situation ie: how much alcohol and/or pills need to be consumed prior to enjoy the following 3-4 hours.

yeah shes expressed this as her childhood guilty pleasure. i dont knock her for it, id still go see smashing pumpkins knowing they're well terrible now

They put on a great show. It's pop-punk done right. Nothing more, nothing less. I saw them 2 years ago with the smoking popes and had a great time.
Mind you I'm a metal head. I went because my wife and her friends wanted to go. There not really what I listen to, but it was still a good energy show.
At the very least, you can always get drunk. I'm sure you'll get laid just for going.
