Just curious as to whether or not there's been any known dubstep artists that started on here as an 'amateur' and has now 'made it' in the music industry?

I know there are many producers who are signed to lables that post on here, but I mean has anyone seen an artist come on here as an amateur, asking for advice, then turned out to make it as an artist signed to a decent lable?

ramadanman, pangaea, ben ufo and oneman are a few off the top of my head

daddy loefah's pretty much made it imo

loads, such a wide spectrum too. guys from hessle audio to circus.

Ikonika, Helix, Epoch. Looking through their early posts gives you confidence, like they had their doubts and problems too but worked hard to overcome them. Bit funny now reading Ikonika giving 320s for feedback and not being well received or Ben UFO studying philosophy and not being sure if he can live off music. I don't do all this for the sake of stalking only, mind you. Untold's posts have good tips on how to make eski synths for example.

Yeah thats why I asked really; it can be a bit disheartening when someone posts a tune and it isn't as well recieved as they'd have hoped. It would be good to look back at some of the earlier comments posted by artists that have actually made it in the industry now, to see the kind of feedback they were initially receiving and the challenges thay faced when getting to where they are now - and as you say, give you confidence.

I think I'll have a look back at some of their earlier posts; beats actually doing work, whilst at work!
