Could you link the video? Was it a delay?

Some kind of pitch modulation, not sure about the details

It creates a pitch envelope for the sound, essentially.

If it's creating a pitch envelope for the sound, you can do the same with two LFO's.

Assign the first LFO to the pitch.

Assign the second LFO to the first LFO's speed/rate control.

The resultant sound should speed up and slow down a bit like a rubber ball bouncing and coming to a stop

I realise this isn't strictly a pogo sound, but I'm sure it'll be close to what you want. :)

I understand this is a noob question, but how do you assign a paramiter of an lfo to another lfo? I can understand automating it, but how can you chain lfo's? With a stand alone lfo vst?

Nevermind, albino has two assignable lfo's. I'm an idiot..

Legitimate question as not all synths allows assigning an LFO to modulate the parameters of another LFO. Those with a mod matrix may allow it, and synths with more modern routine interfaces should allow it too (such as Massive or Surge, Circle etc). Modular synths should allow it too.

An easy way to get around it is simply to assign the LFO to modulate the pitch as usual, then use your DAWs' automation facilities to modulate the LFO rate.

And as you mentioned, you could always use an external plugin like Cableguys Midishaper or Xfer Records LFO Tool to modulate any parameter you want. :)

@futures. Thanks man! Great advice as always! The pogo effect the way you describe it gives me an idea for hats! Sunday project. Cheers!

Actually, playing with it will take some trial and error with the rate of each LFO and the modulation amount to get a useable effect. Try slowish LFO rates to start with.

Also helps to hear what's going on with a longer midi note, at least 8 bars I'd say.

Reason users can cheat and use one of the Malstrom's modulator shapes (curve numbers 29 or 30) for the same effect.

Have fun! :4:
