for sure?! if you like the music - buy it.

Downloading Scene ripped Vinyl was my path into dubstep in 2005! Had to be Scene rips like XXXX etc because all others were shitty radio rips! i now more than contribute to the scene, last month i spent about 70 quid on vinyl and i am more than happy to.

i agree. although i buy what i can afford and just wish i could afford the rest and leave it at that.

but if you're not gonna buy it period, i don't see the harm. i think most of the blame should be put on the rippers/sharers, not the downloaders.

yeh, but its not that simple, if labels dont make an effort to release on any other format apart from vinyl then how can you blame people for downloading rips?

Because you can buy a turntable amp and speakers for a reasonable price.

if you don't have $12 for a record, what makes you think someone would have $200 for a setup?

I don't know where you live but that's not even a lot of money for someone on the giro.

I think it defnately affects Mp3 and Wav downloading facilities but does get the music exposed and as people mentioned above have made them start buying the records.

Good point, the blame should be pointed at the rippers rather than downloaders. I'm not sure how many people can actually say they have NEVER EVER downloaded a song before from the internet that they legally should have bought. Please prove me wrong though if there is anyone out there!

i also think that anyone who doesn't wanna pay for tunes should probably stick to downloading radio mixes/free studio mixes, which is why i love barefiles 8)

definitely a great alternative for the poverty stricken

are u fucking serious?

u expect people to buy turntables, amps and everythng else so they can record vinyls into there computer to then put into there itunes or there ipod??!?!?!?

i know plenty of fans of dubstep who arent dj's, there regular buyers of music on cd and mp3, yet they cant get any of the tunes i show them unless they buy the vinyls! thats the one completely backwards thing about dubstep if u ask me, fans of music not being able to support the artists and labels they love :( :( :( :( :(

Providing the downloads come from a legit source where the artist is getting a fair portion of the proceeds back is ok.

As for p2p applications - fuck em, if you find em, give them something to cry for...
