Why we all LOVE DUBSTEP

Post by harkaransg » Mon Sep 03, 2007 8:18 pm

Personally, i love it becuase of the different sounds and influences. The emotion and energy in the music is nothing like any other music at the moment. Also got to mention the whole vibe of the community of dubstep. Big up all the people at all the raves, record shops, DJ's, radiostations, and dubstep blogs. Coming from south london ive been lucky enough to see dubstep at its best. FWD and DMZ for me deserve soo much respect. They keep it soo simple and real. Its all about the music and people enjoying themselves.

Just wanna show some appriciation back to dubstep for the last year and a half ive been listening to it. Nuff respect. Hold tight everyone and keep up the good work.

Its purely a sexual thing for me. The music is neither here nor there really.

Suddenly, there was a terrible roar all around us, and the sky was full with what looked like huge bats, all swooping and screeching and diving around the car, and a voice was screaming:
Holy Jesus. What are these goddamn animals?

i love it cuz of the high quality of production, the bass, the space, and the lack of norms/expectations for what it should sound like (of course aside from the tempo and the low-end), which overall allows for some truly creative and original music.

plus sometimes it makes my neck tingle.

Its a carefree experience, Like the old skool jungle days. Its insight the sorta hype u need 2 release from the stresses of life and work five days a week. Not a 'i wanna wet sum1 up wiv a knife' hype, but an 'i'm gonna skank out til i pass out' hype. Which is fun, if not insures a good nights sleep after fwd>>

It's deep. It's funky.
It's reggaeish. It's tranceish.
It's wobbles. It's pure and clean.
It's simple. It's very complicated.
It's minimal sound. It's overwhelming sound.
It's hyped. It's chilled.
It's rap music. It's instrumental.
It got soul. It's stonecold.
It's hella fast. It's hella slow.

etc....

To me dubstep is the perfect mixture of more or less all music genres I've always loved... Hiphop, techno, house, garidge, grime, reggae, dub, soca, acid, soul, funk, trance...... and a hell of a lot of BASS!

hopefully indefintley, I like dubstep because its slow, melodic and bassy. I have ALWAYS listened to all sorts of dub music and dubstep was the natural progression for me.

Big up the tunes and the dubstep fam, everyone iv met off here has so far been sound..as...fuck!
