Keeping company with Richard James (Aphex Twin) & Matthew Herbert in the early 90s, Mark Pritchard & Tom Middleton- production partners-in-crime throughout the decade- set up Evolution Records to release some of their first work under guises like Link, Reload & E261, all of which just a few years later were licensed by seminal electronic imprint Warp to create an acclaimed compilation. Together their production credits by the end of the century included timeless Ambient albums & emotive Electronica remixes for the likes of Lamb & Mo'Wax as Global Communication, and pioneering the Electro-revival as Jedi Knights..... much to the consternation of George Lucas
Even before they parted company & Middleton continued to explore the frontiers of Electro as Cosmos, Mark had forged a successful solo career in Broken Beats in his own name, another nom-de-plume Troubleman & collaborations including Harmonic 33- tracks & CDs featuring on Droppin’ Science, Far Out Recordings & Warp. Recently relocated from the UK to Sydney, Pritchard & another new resident- giant of eclectic Hip-Hop production, Steve Spacek- are now representatives of the Red Bull Music Academy in Australia, and following their induction seminar in Brisbane this year Mark wowed the impromptu afterparty with a Dubstep set that even the surliest chin-strokers (that might have been me) couldn’t resist skankin’ to! !113g@1 v@1u3 are happy to be hosting him here again so he can share more of the same- which because it’s !V, of course means it’s completely different to everything that you’d hear anywhere else
Warming up for Master Pritchard will be old-time electro experimenters in Brisbane with shiny new names, Mattamation & Luvpig; rounding out the evening will be K!nd23D (l33t translation: Kindred
