fellow steppers, burning man was dubstep central this year.

Post by diverse » Thu Sep 06, 2007 10:40 am

So sick, every where I went the dub was heard. Of course there was all the other usual dance music going on as well, which I heard quite a bit of hot shit throw down too. It's wicked because I got introduced to the sound out there 4 years ago then only one camp I think playing it, and now it has taken over. So nice to meet so many of you cats and hope we get to hang out more in the future.

Nice one! This vid of FreQ Nasty dropping Luke.Envoy in the Temple of Breaks at last year's Buring Man is pretty much what the gig of my dreams would look & sound like

That video^^. The Jonny Depp lookalike dancing next to Freq was making me cringe.

Good that the sound is getting repped there but don't think i would ever visit. Not into the mad max beyond thunderdome vibes and dust / heat...

There is some amazing looking art there though. Seen some crazy pictures from this years festival...

So whats the crack with the guy that committed suicide at the festival and his mates thought it was a performance art piece?

Yeah, burningman is not for everyone, but for my taste's it doesn't get any better. I can't help thinking about it all year long. Our camp holds fund raiser's over the course of the year so we can keep stepping up our sound system and other camp elements.
Its funny only last year I tried to tell people on here about freq nastys dub sets, and they wouldn't believe it, telling me that nah mate, your wrong, he plays the breakbeats not the dubstep. He threw down some fucking heavy tunes this year, the only problem was out of the 5 sets I got to hear him play. they were the exact same tunes every single time, but they were still huge.
Here are a couple of videos to check. Its only been a few days since its been over so I couldn't find any of them yet with all the dope music.

watch this one till the end, when it explodes its super nasty.

its a lie, according to a friend they found him within a half hour but it took 2 hours to get him down because they were told not to move the body until the coroner arrived.

It can get pricey, but you can do it on a budget as well. I usually spend around $1500-2000 on the whole thing, ticket, rv rental, fuel, food, drugs, ect.
but if you would want to get creative you could probly do it as cheap as $600. We were out there for 9 days and had some heavy fuckin times, well worth every penny, already planning for next year. Here are a couple of other hot videos still can't find any good ones of freq nasty, there is one in there where he is playing this gay ass track that sounds horrible to my ears but every one else seemed to like it.
