Which music genre / scene has the worst fans!?

Wat u think
Personally, I would say hardcore (not happy hardcore, the heavy type). I like some of the music but just about done with going to shows.
Kids stood around at gigs looking hostile wearing oversized t-shirts and beanies. Then the breakdown comes in and a few of them ruin it for everyone by windmilling and spin-kicking anyone in nearby proximity aka 'hardcore dancing' and 'crowd-killing'.
After the song finishes, maybe three people will clap, because showing appreciation isn't cool.
Death metal fans are also pretty shitty, generally friendlier than hardcore kids but worse social skills and often poor hygiene. Hardcore kids are DEFINITELY worse though overall IMO.
Any worse music scenes you've encountered?

Black metal and hip-hop.
The black metal types for being overly religious about black metal. They've literally turned that into a church. All genres have that but black metal does it the most. It's also the most fashion-centered scene. No scene disregards a band for appearance and non-musical aesthetics as much as the black metal scene does.
And hip-hop for celebrating stupidity, illogic and being generally anti-intellectual and regressive. Forward thinking of ANY kind is generally frowned upon and when something new comes out it's always disregarded as "not hip-hop" (look at how they respond to Death Grips or how no one gives a fuck about Dälek... even De La Soul was too forward thinking when '3 Feet High' came out). If it sounds like it could be released after Biggie died, it's considered shit. No one looks to the future, but only 'back to the old school'.
The heads also love discussing 20 year old beefs more than listening to music. In fact, hip-hop heads tend to hate music. They need to live out their gangsta fantasy by having their favorite rapper's back when they're yet in another beef. Rappers beefing are like watching a married couple argue in a grocery store, and the fans can't get enough of it.
The intellectualized black supremacism, homophobia, anti-semitism etc is annoying as fuck too.
I still listen to a lot of hip-hop shit, but fuck associating with 'heads'. I could write a whole essay about how we should all round up hip-hop heads in concentration camps. Everyone will benefit of it, including rappers, because they won't be forced to pander to fans with the intellectual capacity of toddlers.

Good observation. I remember the buzz around that Pro Era album a little while back, I couldn't understand it, it's like they copied 90s hip-hop exactly, in fact they even sampled some of the classic songs / lines from the 90s stuff. It's like why even bother doing something that regressive. Danny Brown's last album and some of the Death Grips stuff is the only hip-hop stuff I've been truly impressed with in recent times.

Can we also discuss the scene with the most annoying musicians? Because, breakcore. The fans are dope, BUT THE PEOPLE MAKING THE MUSIC OMFG SUCH stnuc. Also got some mad sound heads tho', like Electric Kettle or.. The Teknoist. But most of the 'old guard' are a bunch of pretentious, arrogant and pseudo-intellectual stnuc. They're like hip-hop heads who CELEBRATE intellectualism but really overstimate their own intelligence and importance.

I agree 95%. So many rappers, especially in the past celebrated and glorified death, killing, and hurting people, even worse is the false dichotomy of "dead or in jail" "trap or die" "basketball or rap". How about college? Young black men are MUCH or more likely to be professionals Lawyers, doctors, etc. than pro ball players or rappers. And the fact is the black middle class continue to grow. Most black people have never been jailed, sold drugs etc.
It definitely wasn't like that in Hip Hop until some time after NWA blew up in my view, when record companies saw it was more profitable to sell the gangster image rather than the Native Tongues material. And you're right about homophobia. The stereotypes, stigmas, and outright hostility towards men who are even
suspected of being gay is over the top. People calling kids who wear tight jeans "homo" or whatever.
That's why I love artists like Busdriver, Abstract Rude, Aceyalone, etc. I also like the new breed that includes Black hippy, Flatbush Zombies, the Underachievers, and even Earl Sweatshirt's new artistic direction. Plus you got vets like Elzhi, Reks, Royce da 5"9' and others.
The way I see it, there are at least 3 Hip Hop scenes, the commercial scene, the street scene, and the rest of the underground. Both the street and commercial side are replete with ignorant tropes, banal mantras (YOLO & stop snitching etc)
and fans who will shun anyone who doesn't fit the mold of swag rapper or killer. But the underground has plenty of room for guys like Evidence, Black Milk, El-P, Aesop Rock, Brother Ali etc. intelligent or otherwise talented musicians with forward thinking lyrics/production.
It's become considerably better since the lows of mid 2000's for hip hop.
I disagree about Joey. He's a talented and young dude who's using the golden mid 90's sound and respect for the legends to spring his career forward. He'll have plenty of time to progress.
